You may or may not know, but I've had two stories published in the last month. The first, "Red: Mercenary for Hire," is a twisted fairy tale written for the Fairy Tales and Folklore Re-imagined anthology by Between the Lines Press. I've read the first fiftyish pages and the short stories are so imaginative and the poetry is beautifully written. I definitely recommend this book for nearly 500 pages of wonderful storytelling.
Who's afraid of the big, bad werewolf? Not you when Red is around.
The second short story is a dystopian science fiction piece titled, "Back Home," and is a part of the "Like A Woman" anthology. All proceeds from the sales of this anthology go to survivors of domestic violence and was put together by three Australian editors.
Roslyn has escaped from the clutches of the Martian Republic and now houses other women who seek similar shelter. Will she be able to keep them alive in the tunnels under Mars? Or will Roslyn find a way "Back Home?"
